Steven Olson

Steven A. Olson (born in the United States) is a prominent American orthopedic surgeon, researcher, and academic specializing in orthopaedic trauma. He is widely recognized for his contributions to the understanding and treatment of complex fractures, post-traumatic osteoarthritis, and bone healing.

Education and Early Career Olson earned his medical degree (M.D.) from the University of Michigan Medical School. He completed his residency in orthopaedic surgery at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Following his residency, he pursued further specialization in orthopaedic trauma.

Career and Research Dr. Olson began his academic career at the University of Iowa, where he served for many years, developing a strong reputation in orthopaedic trauma surgery and research. In 2008, he joined Duke University School of Medicine, where he currently serves as a Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery and the Chief of Orthopaedic Trauma.
