Steve Skrovan (born March 4, 1957) is an American television producer, writer, director, stand-up comedian, and podcast host. He is best known for his work as a writer on the entire nine-year run of the CBS sitcom Everybody Loves Raymond (1996–2005) and for co-writing the 1993 Seinfeld episode "The Movie."
Early Life
Skrovan grew up in Cleveland, Ohio, and attended Gilmour Academy for high school. He majored in English and played as a varsity football defensive back at Yale University, graduating with a B.A. in 1979.
Career
Skrovan began his career as a stand-up comedian. In 1988, he hosted a short-lived talk show on MTV called Mouth to Mouth. The following year, he became the original host of Totally Hidden Video, a hidden-camera prank show that aired on Fox from 1989 to 1992. He also hosted the first two seasons of the game show That's My Dog on The Family Channel, beginning in 1991.
In 1993, Skrovan co-wrote the Seinfeld episode "The Movie." He then joined the writing staff of Everybody Loves Raymond, where he remained for the entirety of its nine-season run (1996–2005), writing or co-writing numerous episodes. In 2001, he made a cameo appearance as a police officer in Season 2, Episode 1 of Curb Your Enthusiasm.
Skrovan produced the 2005 television special Earth to America, which focused on environmental issues. He co-wrote, produced, and directed An Unreasonable Man (2006), a documentary about the life and career of consumer advocate and political activist Ralph Nader. He subsequently worked as a producer on the sitcom 'Til Death (2006–2010), which starred former Everybody Loves Raymond cast member Brad Garrett.
Since 2014, Skrovan has co-hosted the Ralph Nader Radio Hour on the Pacifica Radio Network alongside David Feldman.

Skrovan wrote or co-wrote numerous episodes across all nine seasons of Everybody Loves Raymond, including "Standard Deviation," "The Children's Book," "Getting Even," "Prodigal Son," "Pet Cemetery," "Raybert," "The Sigh," "Home From School," "Ally's F," and the series finale, "The Finale."

Skrovan is also active on the Substack platform, where he publishes a newsletter titled Bits & Pieces, featuring comedy pieces, show business stories, political satire, and stand-up material.
