Stephen James Rotheram (born 9 January 1961) is a British politician who has served as the Metro Mayor of the Liverpool City Region since May 2021. A member of the Labour Party, Rotheram was previously the Member of Parliament (MP) for Liverpool Walton from 2010 to 2019.
Early life and education
Rotheram was born in Liverpool, England. He attended St Columba's Primary School and later the University of Liverpool, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in environmental science. Before entering politics, he worked in the construction and housing sectors, including a tenure as senior manager at a local housing association.
