Sterling District No. 5 Schoolhouse is a historic school building located in Sterling, Cayuga County, New York, United States. The building was constructed around 1853 and is a two-story hewn timber frame structure with a front-facing gable roof, built above a mortared rubble stone foundation. It is rectangular in shape and measures approximately 28 feet by 38 feet.
The building's architectural style has been identified as Italian Villa. It served as a school into the 1950s. Following its use as an educational facility, the building was subsequently used by the Sterling Historical Society for museum display space and also served as the Town Hall. It is now the Sterling Historical Society Museum.
The property was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on October 10, 2002, under NRHP reference number 02001119. The listing was supported by a National Register of Historic Places Registration document prepared by William E. Krattinger in July 2001. The building is located on New York State Route 104A in Sterling, New York, at coordinates 43°19′25″N 76°38′51″W, and occupies an area of less than one acre.
