Stefano Eranio (born 25 June 1966) is an Italian former professional footballer who played as a midfielder. He began his senior career with A.C. Milan, making his Serie A debut in the 1989–1990 season. Over six seasons with Milan, Eranio contributed to the club's domestic and European successes, including winning the Serie A title in 1991–92 and 1992–93, as well as the UEFA Champions League in 1993–94.
In 1994, Eranio transferred to Genoa C.F.C., where he played for three seasons before moving to Swiss club FC Zürich in 1997. He concluded his playing career with FC Zürich, retiring in 2001. Throughout his club career, Eranio was noted for his versatility, tactical intelligence, and work rate in midfield.
Internationally, Eranio earned two caps for the Italy national team, both in friendly matches in 1997. He was not selected for major tournaments such as the FIFA World Cup or UEFA European Championship.
After retiring as a player, Eranio pursued a career in football management and media. He served as a technical director for Swiss club FC Lugano and worked as a commentator and pundit for Italian sports broadcasters, providing analysis on Serie A and European football.
Eranio holds a UEFA coaching license and has been involved in youth development programs, emphasizing technical skills and professional conduct among emerging players. His contributions to football extend beyond his playing days, reflecting a continued commitment to the sport.
