Stefan Mazrocis

Stefan Mazrocis (born 22 November 1970) is an English former professional snooker player. He competed on the main professional snooker tour from 1991 to 2010.

Career

Mazrocis turned professional in 1991. Throughout his career, he was known for his attacking style of play, which often led to exciting frames but also contributed to inconsistency. His highest world ranking was number 57, achieved during the 1995/1996 season.

He made two appearances at the World Snooker Championship in Sheffield's Crucible Theatre, reaching the last 32 on both occasions. In the 1999 World Championship, he defeated former world champion Dennis Taylor in the qualifying rounds to reach the main draw, where he lost to Stephen Lee. He returned to the Crucible in 2001, losing to Ronnie O'Sullivan in the first round.

One of his best performances in a ranking event was at the 1999 Grand Prix, where he reached the last 16 before being eliminated by John Parrott. Mazrocis recorded one maximum break (147) in professional competition during his career, at a UK Tour event in 1998.

After struggling to maintain his place on the main tour, Mazrocis dropped off the professional circuit in 2010. He subsequently made several attempts to return through Q School, but without success.

Playing Style

Mazrocis was characterized by his aggressive approach to the game. He possessed a strong break-building ability when in form, but his desire to attack often led to positional errors or risky shots that could turn frames against him.
