Stanisław Kierbedź (1817 – 17 June 1899) was a Polish civil engineer and bridge builder active in the 19th century. He is most noted for designing and constructing several major bridges in Warsaw, including the Kierbedź Bridge (most commonly referred to as the Warsaw Bridge) over the Vistula River, which was the first permanent steel bridge in the city.
Early life and education
- Born in 1817 in Słupsk, then part of the Kingdom of Prussia.

Career
- Began his professional work in the 1840s, initially focusing on railway construction in the Russian Empire’s Polish territories.

- Additional projects included the construction of the Poniatowski Bridge (originally the Poniatowski Railway Bridge) and involvement in the design of railway viaducts and urban roadways throughout Poland and the broader Russian Empire.
- Kierbedź held a professorship at the Warsaw University of Technology, where he taught subjects related to structural engineering and bridge construction.
