Stanisław Chmielewski

Stanisław Chmielewski (born October 23, 1958, in Złotów) is a Polish politician, lawyer, and government official who served in various capacities within the Polish judicial and legislative systems.

Chmielewski graduated from the Faculty of Law and Administration at the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń. Following his studies, he pursued a career in the legal profession, serving as a judge and later practicing as a legal advisor.

His political career is primarily associated with the Civic Platform (Platforma Obywatelska) party. Chmielewski was elected as a member of the Sejm (the lower house of the Polish parliament) during its fifth and sixth terms, representing the Bydgoszcz constituency.

In addition to his legislative roles, Chmielewski held significant positions within the executive branch. From 2009 to 2013, he served as the Secretary of State in the Ministry of Justice under the government led by Donald Tusk. During his tenure, his work focused on judicial reforms and the administration of the legal system. Following his time at the Ministry of Justice, he served as a Secretary of State in the Chancellery of the Prime Minister.
