Stan Wallace (1931–1999) was an American professional football player who competed in the National Football League (NFL) during the 1950s. He played as a defensive back and punter, primarily for the Chicago Bears.
Born Stanley Dean Wallace on October 29, 1931, in Hillsboro, Illinois, he attended the University of Illinois. During his collegiate career, he played as a halfback for the Illinois Fighting Illini. In the 1954 NFL Draft, Wallace was selected in the first round as the sixth overall pick by the Chicago Bears.
His professional career spanned four active seasons: 1954, 1956, 1957, and 1958. His tenure was interrupted between 1954 and 1956 by military service in the United States Air Force. Statistically, Wallace appeared in 44 NFL games, recording seven interceptions for 116 return yards. As a punter, he recorded 48 punts for a total of 1,854 yards, maintaining a career punting average of 38.6 yards. Wallace died on September 15, 1999, at the age of 67.
