Spacestation Pheta is a video game for the Macintosh developed by T&T Software, originally released as shareware in the late 1980s. It is a fast, multi-screen platform (puzzle-platformer) game in which the player controls a spaceman who must navigate each level—referred to as a "screen"—to collect keys and reach the exit door before a limited oxygen supply runs out.
Each screen contains various features and obstacles, including transporters, ladders, cannons, trampolines, and so-called "materializers." The game superficially resembles Lode Runner but is fundamentally turn-based rather than real-time, with the oxygen meter decreasing with each step the player takes.
The registered version of Spacestation Pheta includes one hundred built-in screens, a custom level editor, a "show me the solution" feature, printable help, digitized sound effects, and optional color graphics. The game can be played on almost any 68k or PowerPC Macintosh computer, including compact black-and-white models such as the Macintosh Plus.
The sound effects in Spacestation Pheta were sampled by the electronic group Underworld. A port of the game was also released on disk for the TI-99/4A home computer, written in Wycove Forth.
