Sousceyrac-en-Quercy is a commune located in the Lot department within the Occitanie region of southwestern France. It was established on January 1, 2016, as a "commune nouvelle" (new commune) through the administrative merger of five former communes: Sousceyrac, Comiac, Lacam-d'Ourcet, Lamativie, and Pontverny. The administrative seat, or chef-lieu, is situated in the former commune of Sousceyrac.
The commune is part of the arrondissement of Figeac and falls within the canton of Céré et Ségala. Geographically, it is positioned in the historical province of Quercy, an area characterized by its diverse topography that includes the transition between the limestone plateaus of the Quercy region and the crystalline terrain of the Ségala, bordering the Massif Central.
As a consolidated administrative entity, Sousceyrac-en-Quercy oversees the local governance, infrastructure, and public services for its constituent delegated communes. The creation of the commune was part of a broader French administrative reform aimed at streamlining local government by encouraging the voluntary merger of smaller municipalities.
