Sordid Humor

Sordid Humor was an American rock band formed in Davis, California, in the late 1980s. The group is associated with the Davis music scene of that era, which included bands such as Game Theory and Thin White Rope.

The band's core lineup consisted of Tom Monahan (vocals, guitar), James Adcock (bass), and David Immerglück (guitar), with various drummers including Greg Andrews and Chris Pedersen. Their musical style blended elements of alternative rock, jangle pop, and psychedelic rock, often characterized by layered guitar work and literate, melancholic lyrics.

Discography includes the albums Light Music for Dying People (1989) and Sordid Humor (1992), as well as the EP The Last of the Great American Hobos (1991). The band disbanded in the mid-1990s. Following the breakup, David Immerglück joined Camper Van Beethoven and later became a long-term member of Counting Crows. Tom Monahan pursued a solo career and worked as a producer.
