Sivadevuni Chikkala (also spelled Sivadevunichikkala) is a village in the West Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh, India. It is located approximately 8 km from Palakollu (Palacole) on the Bhimavaram road. The village falls under the Palacole Mandal and has a population of 3,555 (as per the 2011 Census), with 1,001 households. Its postal PIN code is 534245.
The village is best known for the Sri Sivadevuni Chikkala Temple, a Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva (Sivadeva Swami), along with a shrine to Parvati. According to local tradition (Sthala Puranam), the temple houses a white Śivaliṅgam (lingam) said to have been brought by Hanuman from Kashi. The name "Sivadevuni Chikkala" is derived from the legend: the lingam was carried in a chikkam (a nest or bundle of threads), and it was installed at this location, giving the site its name.
The temple is a notable pilgrimage destination, especially during the Maha Shivaratri festival and the Karthika Masam period, when events such as Laksha Bilvarchana and Chandi Yagam are held. The temple is open daily from 4:00 AM to 9:00 PM.
The village is served by the Sivadevunichikkala railway station (station code: SVDC), located on the Bhimavaram–Narasapur branch line of the South Central Railway zone. It is also accessible by road via public bus services.
