Simone Corsi (born 16 August 1976) is an Italian former professional motorcycle road racer. He competed in the MotoGP World Championship, primarily in the 125 cc, 250 cc, and Moto2 categories, from the mid‑1990s through the 2010s. Corsi achieved several podium finishes in the 125 cc class and was a regular points‑scoring rider throughout his career.
Early life and career
Corsi was born in Rome, Italy. He began riding motorcycles at a young age and entered national competition in the early 1990s. He made his debut in the Grand Prix 125 cc class in 1994, riding for the Aprilia factory team.
Grand Prix career
- 125 cc class (1994–2003) – Corsi spent the majority of his early Grand Prix career in the 125 cc category. He secured his first podium finish at the 1997 Czech Republic Grand Prix. His best season result came in 1999, when he finished fourth overall in the championship, accumulating 156 points and achieving three podiums.
- 250 cc class (2004–2008) – Corsi moved up to the 250 cc class in 2004, racing for teams such as Team UGP and Team HRC. He attained a career‑high finish of second place at the 2005 Australian Grand Prix, marking his sole podium in the 250 cc class.
