Sikder Bodiruzzaman

Sikder Bodiruzzaman is a Bangladeshi career diplomat who served as the Ambassador of Bangladesh to Ethiopia from 24 August 2023 until 30 April 2025. Prior to his ambassadorship, he held the position of Director General of the Eastern Europe and Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) Wing at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Early life and education
Born in Khulna, Bangladesh, Bodiruzzaman completed his undergraduate and graduate studies in English language and literature at the University of Rajshahi.

Professional career

  • Academic work: Before entering the foreign service, he worked as a lecturer at New Model Degree College in Dhaka.
  • Foreign service entry: He joined the Bangladesh Civil Service (Foreign Affairs) as part of the 17th batch in 1998.
