His most notable current role is as the drummer for Gaahls Wyrd, a band fronted by the influential vocalist Gaahl (Kristian Espedal). With Gaahls Wyrd, Haugen has contributed to albums such as GastiR - Ghosts Invited.
Prior to his work with Gaahls Wyrd, Haugen was a long-standing member of the black metal band Trelldom, where he played drums for many years and contributed to several of their releases.
He also performed session drums for the renowned black metal band Gorgoroth on their 2009 album, Quantos Possunt ad Satanitatem Trahunt.
