Shunsuke Ueda

Shunsuke Ueda (上田 俊介, Ueda Shunsuke, born November 14, 1988) is a former Japanese professional footballer who played as a midfielder. He spent his career primarily in the lower divisions of Japanese football, including the Japan Football League (JFL) and the J3 League.

Early Life and Youth Career

Born in Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan, Ueda developed his football skills through the youth system of J.League club Shimizu S-Pulse. After his time with Shimizu S-Pulse Youth, he continued his football development at Chukyo University.

Club Career

Ueda began his professional career in 2011, joining Sagawa Printing Kyoto (which later became SP Kyoto FC) in the Japan Football League (JFL). He became a consistent player for the club, making numerous appearances over five seasons.

In 2016, Ueda made the move to Gainare Tottori, a club competing in the J3 League, the third tier of the Japanese professional football league system. He played for Gainare Tottori for two seasons before transferring to Vanraure Hachinohe for the 2018 season.

He remained with Vanraure Hachinohe until the conclusion of the 2020 season. At the age of 32, Ueda announced his retirement from professional football following the end of his contract with Vanraure Hachinohe.

As a midfielder, Ueda was recognized for his diligent work rate and his contributions in both defensive duties and linking play between defense and attack.
