Shuhei Takada

Shuhei Takada (高田 周平, born August 10, 1992) is a Japanese former professional baseball pitcher. He played for the Hiroshima Toyo Carp in Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB).

Early Life and Amateur Career

Born in Hiroshima Prefecture, Japan, Takada attended Hiroshima Koryo High School. During his high school career, he emerged as a promising pitcher, gaining recognition from professional scouts for his abilities on the mound.

Professional Career

Takada was selected by the Hiroshima Toyo Carp in the second round of the 2010 NPB draft, commencing his professional career with the team from the 2011 season.

Throughout his tenure with the Carp, Takada primarily developed and competed within the team's minor league system, specifically the Western League. He made his Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB) debut with the first team (Ichigun) in the 2012 season. Despite his debut, opportunities at the highest professional level were infrequent, and he mostly saw action as a relief pitcher during his limited call-ups.

Playing Style

As a right-handed pitcher, Takada's repertoire included a fastball complemented by various breaking pitches.
