Shami Ghosh

Shami Ghosh is a British historian specializing in medieval European history, with a particular focus on intellectual history, legal history, and the history of rhetoric during the 12th and 13th centuries. He is currently an Associate Professor of Medieval History at the University of Oxford and a Fellow and Tutor in History at St Anne's College, Oxford.

Education and Career

Shami Ghosh completed his undergraduate studies and doctorate at the University of Cambridge. His doctoral research explored aspects of medieval political thought.

Prior to his appointment at Oxford, Ghosh held several research positions, including a Junior Research Fellowship at Gonville & Caius College, Cambridge. He also served as a Leverhulme Early Career Fellow at the University of Manchester, further developing his expertise in medieval European intellectual and legal history.
