Etymology/Origin
The name “Sezimovo Ústí” combines two elements: “Sezimovo,” referring to the former settlement of Sezim (historically associated with a medieval monastery), and “Ústí,” a Czech term meaning “river mouth” or “confluence.” The designation therefore denotes the place at the confluence belonging to Sezim.
