Seú Jorge (born Jorge Mário da Silva on June 8, 1970) is a Brazilian singer, songwriter, musician, and actor. He is widely recognized for his contributions to Brazilian popular music, particularly for his reinterpretations of classic samba and MPB (Música Popular Brasileira) songs, as well as for his roles in international films.

Jorge was born in Belford Roxo, a municipality in the state of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He grew up in a working‑class family and began playing guitar at an early age. He left formal schooling in his teens to pursue a career in music.
Music Career
1990s – Jorge began his professional career performing in Rio de Janeiro's underground music scene, playing in bands such as "Banda do Barulho" and later forming his own group, "Jorge e Seus Irmãos".
2000 – He released his debut solo album, Mora no Ar (2000), which blended samba, funk, and soul influences.
