"Senkō" (Japanese: 閃光, meaning "Flash of Light") is a song by Japanese singer Tomiko Van, released as her second solo single on September 27, 2006, under the Avex Trax label. It was issued in two formats: a CD-only edition and a CD+DVD edition.
Background
"Senkō" was the second single released by Tomiko Van after the disbandment of the Japanese band Do As Infinity, of which she had been the lead vocalist. The A-side song was used as a commercial song for the ringtone service site mu-mo and for music.jp TV-CF.
Musical style and lyrics
The song is described as a medium-tempo rock number. It represents a stylistic departure from her previous single "Flower," adopting a darker tone. Lyrically, the song deals with the sorrows and inward struggles of a woman who is alone. Instrumentally, it features heavy guitars to reinforce the overall dark mood.

Note on other songs with the same title
The Japanese word "Senkō" (閃光, "flash") has also been used as the title of other songs, most notably "閃光" (Senkou) by the Japanese rock band [Alexandros], which served as the theme song for the 2021 anime film Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway. That song was released as a single on May 5, 2021, and is a separate work from Tomiko Van's 2006 single.
