Senad Begić

Senad Begić (born 10 October 1969) is a Bosnian former professional footballer who played as a defender.

Early life
Born in Zenica, then part of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, Begić began his football career in his hometown.

Club career

  • Čelik Zenica (1994–1997): Begić made at least 25 league appearances, scoring at least two goals.
  • FK Sarajevo (1998–1999): He featured in 49 league matches and scored six goals.
  • Čelik Zenica (2000–2003): Returning to Čelik, he added 68 league appearances and twelve goals.

During his second spell with Čelik Zenica, Begić participated in the 2001 UEFA Intertoto Cup, notably contributing to the club’s surprise home victory over Belgian side AA Gent. He also won the Bosnia and Herzegovina Cup with Čelik in 1996.

International career
Begić earned twelve caps for the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team between 1995 and 1997, without scoring. He debuted in Bosnia and Herzegovina’s first official international match, a friendly against Albania in November 1995, and made his final appearance in a March 1997 Dunhill Cup match versus China.

Retirement
After the 2003 season, Begić retired from professional football.
