Second to None (film)

Second to None is a 1994 action film directed by Bill Bushnell and starring James Brolin, Thomas Ian Griffith, and Stacy Haiduk. The film revolves around a dedicated high school teacher, John Kistler (Brolin), and his increasingly tense relationship with a new, ambitious and potentially dangerous, history teacher named Tyler Reed (Griffith).

Reed, a charismatic Vietnam veteran, begins to exert an unusual influence over the students, particularly through his aggressive and militaristic teaching methods. As Kistler investigates Reed's past, he uncovers a web of secrets and hints of a troubled and potentially violent history. The film explores themes of manipulation, the corrupting influence of power, and the lasting psychological effects of war. It culminates in a dramatic confrontation between Kistler and Reed as the fate of the students and the school hangs in the balance. The film received limited theatrical release and subsequent reviews were mixed.
