Sebastián Eguren Ledesma (born 8 January 1981) is a Uruguayan former professional footballer who played as a defensive midfielder. Known for his tenacious tackling, defensive work rate, and leadership on the field, Eguren enjoyed a career spanning several countries, most notably in Spain's La Liga and with the Uruguay national team.
Early Life and Career Born in Montevideo, Uruguay, Eguren began his professional career with Montevideo Wanderers in 1999. His strong performances quickly attracted attention, leading to a move to Nacional, one of Uruguay's most prominent clubs.
