History

Formation and early years (2005–2007)
Roy Stride and Greg Churchouse met while working as session musicians and began writing songs together. They recruited James Rowland as a drummer, and the trio performed under the name Scouting for Girls, playing gigs in London clubs and pubs. Their early material combined piano hooks with pop‑rock arrangements, gaining attention from independent promoters.

Breakthrough (2007–2010)
The band's debut single, “She’s So Lovely,” was released in 2007 and entered the UK Singles Chart within the top ten. Their first album, Everything Is Everything, released in September 2007, peaked at number 2 on the UK Albums Chart and was certified Platinum by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI). The album produced further singles such as “Elvis Ain’t Dead” and “Don’t Want To Talk About It,” which also charted.

In 2010 the group released their second studio album, Everybody Wants to Be on TV, which reached number 4 on the UK Albums Chart. Singles from the album, including “Never Forget You,” continued the band’s presence on mainstream radio.

Subsequent releases (2014–present)
Scouting for Girls released their third album, The Trouble with School – The Kids Are Bored and I’m Too Numb to Get Older, in 2014, followed by the holiday‑themed EP Christmas in the City (2015). The band’s fourth studio album, Still Thinking About You, arrived in 2021 and was supported by a UK tour. Throughout this period, the group maintained a reputation for energetic live performances and frequent appearances on television and radio programmes.
