Sayed Mohamed Adnan (Arabic: سيد محمد عدنان; born 5 February 1983) is a Bahraini former professional footballer who played as a defender. He is widely regarded as one of Bahrain's most prominent footballers, having captained the national team and enjoyed a lengthy career spanning domestic leagues in the Gulf region and a stint in Australia's A-League.
Club Career Adnan began his senior career with Al-Muharraq SC in Bahrain, where he won multiple domestic titles. In 2008, he moved to Qatar to play for Al-Arabi SC, followed by a transfer to Al-Khor SC. In 2011, he signed with Brisbane Roar FC in the Australian A-League. He played a key role in Brisbane Roar's historic 2011–12 season, helping the club secure the A-League Championship (Grand Final winners) and the Premiership (regular season winners), completing a domestic double. He remained with the club until 2013 before returning to the Middle East to play for clubs including Hidd SCC and Al-Najma SC in Bahrain, eventually retiring from professional football.
International Career Adnan made his debut for the Bahrain national team in 2004. He represented his country in four consecutive AFC Asian Cup tournaments (2004, 2007, 2011, and 2015). He was a pivotal figure in the team that reached the semi-finals of the 2004 AFC Asian Cup on home soil, which remains Bahrain's best performance in the competition. He also featured extensively in FIFA World Cup qualification campaigns, including the inter-confederation play-offs against New Zealand (2010) and Trinidad and Tobago (2018). He earned over 100 caps for the national team, serving as captain for a significant period.
