Saviour Darmanin

Saviour Darmanin (born 19 April 1977) is a Maltese former professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper. He spent his entire career in the Maltese Premier League and represented Malta at various youth international levels.

Club Career Darmanin began his professional career in the late 1990s and played for several prominent clubs in the Maltese Premier League, known for his longevity and consistent performances.

  • Pietà Hotspurs: He emerged through the youth ranks and made his senior debut with Pietà Hotspurs, establishing himself as a first-choice goalkeeper.
  • Hibernians: Darmanin later moved to Hibernians F.C., one of Malta's most successful clubs, where he featured prominently in their league and cup campaigns.
  • Floriana: He also had a significant spell with Floriana F.C., another historic club in Maltese football, contributing to their squad in various seasons.
  • Other Clubs: Throughout his career, Darmanin played for a number of other Maltese Premier League teams, including Marsaxlokk, Msida Saint-Joseph, Ħamrun Spartans, Mosta, Tarxien Rainbows, and Vittoriosa Stars, often bringing experience and reliability to the clubs he represented. International Career Darmanin represented Malta at various youth levels, including the Under-21 national team, participating in qualifying campaigns for UEFA competitions.
