Saskia Matheis

Saskia Matheis (born 27 May 1997) is a German professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Frauen-Bundesliga club Eintracht Frankfurt.

Early Life and Youth Career

Matheis began her football journey in youth teams before joining the highly regarded youth academy of 1. FFC Frankfurt, one of Germany's most successful women's football clubs at the time.

Club Career

Matheis made her senior debut for 1. FFC Frankfurt in the Frauen-Bundesliga during the 2013–14 season. Over the years, she steadily established herself as a consistent presence in the team's midfield. Known for her strong defensive attributes, work rate, and ability to control the tempo of play, she became a regular starter for the club.

In July 2020, 1. FFC Frankfurt was officially integrated into Eintracht Frankfurt's sports club, forming Eintracht Frankfurt (women's section). Matheis was one of the key players who transitioned with the club through this merger, continuing her career with the newly branded team. She has since remained an integral part of Eintracht Frankfurt Frauen, featuring regularly in the Frauen-Bundesliga and DFB-Pokal Frauen competitions.
