Sascut

Sascut is a commune located in Bacău County, Romania. Situated in the historical region of Moldavia, the commune lies on the banks of the Siret River, a major waterway in Eastern Europe.

The administrative center of the commune is the village of Sascut. The commune is comprised of a total of eleven villages, which include: Berești, Ciuturești, Chiriești, Cornățel, Huțu, Pâncești, Sascut, Sascut-Sat, Schineni, Scurta, and Valea Nacului.

According to the 2011 census, the commune of Sascut had a population of 8,569 inhabitants. The local economy is primarily based on agriculture.
