Sardar Ahmed Haleemi (Urdu: سردار احمد حلیمی, born 12 February 1975) is a Justice of the Balochistan High Court (BHC) in Pakistan, having assumed office on 7 July 2022.
Early Life and Education
Haleemi was born on 12 February 1975 in Quetta, Balochistan, Pakistan. He hails from the Mastung District. He is the son of Haibat Khan Haleemi, a retired police officer. He completed his early education in Quetta, graduating in Mathematics and Statistics from Government Science College, Quetta, and earned his LL.B. degree from University Law College, Quetta in 1998.
Career
Haleemi began his advocacy career in December 2012 at the Balochistan High Court and was later enrolled as an advocate of the Supreme Court of Pakistan on 12 November 2014. He practiced law for over 22 years, handling cases in Criminal, Civil, Electoral, Services, Revenue, and Constitutional law. He served as a Special Public Prosecutor for the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and the Anti-Terrorism Act (ATA), and provided legal consultancy to various organizations including Bank AL Habib, Oil & Gas Development Company, National Logistics Corporation, SBK University, Quetta Electric Supply Company, Quetta Club Ltd, and Defence Housing Authority Quetta.
He contributed to legislative review and proposed amendments to the "Balochistan Protection against Harassment of Women at Workplace Act, 2016." He also delivered lectures at the Balochistan Judicial Academy and instructed prison department officials on jail manual and laws.
Judicial Appointment
Haleemi was elevated as an Additional Judge of the Balochistan High Court on 7 July 2022, and was confirmed as a permanent Judge on 27 June 2023.
Community and Social Work
Beyond the legal field, Haleemi established sports clubs to promote Taekwondo, boxing, and football, and organized the first International Professional Boxing Event in Balochistan on 23 March 2018. He collaborated with the Honorary Counsel General of Sri Lanka for Punjab to facilitate cornea donations for Balochistan residents, organized monthly blood camps for Thalassemia patients, participated in tree-planting initiatives, served on the Management Committee of Quetta Club Limited, and supported the "Dar-ul-Falah Islamia" orphanage.
