History

Historical records indicate that the locality was part of the feudal holdings of the Abbey of Farfa during the 12th and 13th centuries. Over the centuries, it passed under the jurisdiction of the Papal States and, after Italian unification in 1861, became part of the Kingdom of Italy.

Economy
The local economy is predominantly based on agriculture, livestock breeding, and small‑scale artisanal activities. Olive groves, vineyards, and cereal cultivation are common in the surrounding hills. A limited tourism sector exists, centered on the historic church and the natural scenery of the Apennines.
