Sandra Völker

Sandra Völker (born April 1, 1974) is a former German competitive swimmer. She specialized in sprint freestyle and backstroke events and was one of Germany's most successful female swimmers of the late 20th and early 21st centuries.

Völker competed in three consecutive Olympic Games, making her debut at the 1996 Atlanta Summer Olympics, where she won multiple medals. She earned a silver medal as part of the German 4x100 meter freestyle relay team and two bronze medals in individual events: the 50 meter freestyle and the 100 meter backstroke. She continued her Olympic career at the 2000 Sydney Olympics and the 2004 Athens Olympics.

Throughout her career, Völker also achieved significant success at the World Aquatics Championships and the European Aquatics Championships, securing numerous medals in both individual and relay events. She was known for her explosive starts and powerful sprint finishes.
