Sanae Takaichi (高市 早苗, Takaichi Sanae, born 22 March 1966) is a Japanese politician who has served multiple terms as a member of the House of Representatives in the National Diet of Japan. She is a member of the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) and has held several senior cabinet positions, including Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications (2019–2020). Takaichi was a prominent candidate in the 2021 LDP leadership election, finishing as the runner‑up to Fumio Kishida.
Early life and education

Political career
- Joined the Liberal Democratic Party in 1993.
