Samrah (Arabic: السمرة) is a village in central Syria, administratively part of the Hama Governorate. It is situated northeast of the city of Hama, within the Hama District and the Subdistrict of the Hama Nahiyah. The village lies at geographic coordinates 35°17′26″ N 36°52′14″ E.
According to the Syria Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), Samrah had a population of 1,018 in the 2004 census. The inhabitants are reported to be predominantly Alawites, a sect of Shia Islam that is a significant minority in Syria.
Samrah is one of many small settlements in the Hama Governorate and is referenced in various geographic and demographic records concerning Syrian rural localities. It should not be confused with similarly named places such as Samra.
