The corolla is approximately 2 to 3 centimeters long and is typically pale lilac, bluish-white, or occasionally pinkish in color.

Salvia moorcroftiana is primarily found at altitudes ranging from 1,500 to 3,000 meters above sea level. It inhabits open mountain slopes, meadows, and rocky areas. It is well-adapted to the well-drained soils and temperate climates characteristic of the Himalayan foothills and alpine regions.
