Saint‑Gilles is a municipality in the province of Quebec, Canada. It is situated within the Les Etchemins Regional County Municipality (RCM) in the Chaudière‑Appalaches administrative region. The community lies approximately 85 kilometres southeast of Quebec City, near the border with the United States, and is intersected by Quebec Route 173.

Geography
The municipality encompasses a land area of roughly 112 square kilometres, characterised by a mix of agricultural fields, forested zones, and small watercourses that drain into the Chaudière River basin. Its geographic coordinates are approximately 46°54′ N latitude and 70°33′ W longitude.

History
The settlement of Saint‑Gilles originated in the early 19th century, primarily as a farming community. The parish was formally established in 1842 and was named after Saint Giles (Saint Gilles in French), a 7th‑century Christian hermit and patron saint of the disabled and lepers. The municipality was constituted under its current legal status in the mid‑20th century, following the reorganization of local municipal structures in Quebec.
