SM U-113

SM U-113 was a projected U-boat of the Imperial German Navy (Kaiserliche Marine) during World War I. It was one of several submarines ordered late in the war as part of the Type UD class, a design intended for long-range cruiser operations.

Ordered on September 23, 1917, SM U-113 was laid down at the AG Vulcan shipyard in Hamburg under yard number 102. The Type UD class, of which U-113 was to be a part, represented a planned evolution in German U-boat design, focusing on increased range and armament for sustained operations.

However, the construction of SM U-113 was not completed before the Armistice of November 11, 1918, which marked the end of World War I. Following the cessation of hostilities, the uncompleted submarine was never launched or commissioned into service. In 1919, the unfinished hull of SM U-113 was scrapped in Hamburg as part of the post-war disarmament and demobilization efforts, preventing it from ever seeing active duty.
