Sébastien Pan (born 9 July 1984) is a French composer and multi-instrumentalist, best known for his work on motion pictures and animated television series. He has been a permanent resident of New Zealand since 2015.
Biography
Born in Montbéliard, in eastern France, Pan began his career as a composer at Imaginex Studios, an audio post-production house in the Asia-Pacific region. He later moved to Los Angeles to join composer Christopher Young's "Tilden House" studio, and was also mentored by film composers John Powell and Junkie XL.
Career
Pan has scored approximately 25 feature films and more than 400 episodes of television series, in addition to writing additional music for numerous Hollywood blockbusters. He began a collaboration with Chinese director Wang Yunfei, scoring the animated film Yugo & Lala (2012), followed by Yugo & Lala 2 (2014) and Kwai Boo: Crazy Space Adventure (2015). Kwai Boo marked the first collaboration between a Chinese animation project and 20th Century Fox.
He has contributed additional music to major films including Solo: A Star Wars Story (2018), Mortal Engines (2018), Terminator: Dark Fate (2019), Annabelle Comes Home (2019), The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It (2021), and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (2022).
In television, Pan has composed for animated series such as Oddbods (2016–present, 148 episodes), Chuck Chicken, The Insectibles, and Antiks. He has also scored more than 60 international television commercials for brands including Coca-Cola, Yamaha, and Samsung.
In 2013, he wrote a 52-minute symphonic piece based on the fantasy novel Autre Monde – L'Alliance des Trois by French author Maxime Chattam.

Pan has received multiple awards and nominations, including a Grand Jury Award for Best Soundtrack for Terraforma (2020) and a NZ Screen Awards nomination in 2025 for Tinā.
