Ruth Wisse (born 13 January 1945) is a Canadian literary scholar, cultural critic, and public intellectual known for her contributions to the study of Yiddish literature and modern Jewish thought. She has held a long‑standing faculty position at Harvard University, where she served as the Rosen Professor of European and American Jewish Studies and as a senior scholar in the Department of Comparative Literature.
