Ruth Keidar (Hebrew: רות קידר; died 18 June 1998) was an Israeli Paralympic shooter.
Biography
Keidar served in the Teleprocessing Corps of the Israel Defense Forces. During the Six-Day War (1967), she was paralyzed in both legs and subsequently used a wheelchair. She lived in Ramat Hasharon and was married with three children.
Sporting Career
Keidar won a silver medal at the 1987 Stoke Mandeville Games.
At the 1988 Summer Paralympics in Seoul, she competed in shooting in three events for disability classifications 2–6:
- Women's Air Rifle Kneeling 2–6: Silver medal (393 points)
- Women's Air Rifle Prone 2–6: 10th place (386 points)
- Women's Air Rifle 3 Positions 2–6: 14th place (779 points)
Death and Recognition
Keidar died on 18 June 1998. She is recognized as a fallen soldier of the Israel Defense Forces (a disabled veteran who died after service), and her name is listed on the official Israeli Ministry of Defense memorial site.
