Rune Belsvik (born 14 April 1956) is a Norwegian novelist, playwright, short story writer, and children's writer.
Biography
Belsvik was born on 14 April 1956 in Haugesund, Norway, and grew up in Stord Municipality. He trained in health care and worked at a hospital in Kvinnherad Municipality before becoming a full-time writer in 1983.
He made his literary debut in 1979 with the children's book Ingen drittunge lenger, which received the Noregs mållags pris in 1980. Belsvik is best known for his series of books about the character Dustefjerten, which have been featured on the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation (NRK) children's radio programme Barnetimen. For these books, he received the Kulturdepartementets litteraturpris (the Norwegian Ministry of Culture's literature prize).
