Rudy Silbaugh

Rudolph "Rudy" Silbaugh (born October 18, 1944) is a former American [[football]] [[linebacker]] who played professionally in the [[National Football League]] (NFL).

Early Life and College Career

Silbaugh was born on October 18, 1944, in Lake Crystal, Minnesota. He played [[college football]] for the [[Minnesota Golden Gophers]] at the [[University of Minnesota]]. As a standout collegiate player, he was part of the Golden Gophers team during the mid-1960s.

Professional Career

After his college career, Silbaugh went undrafted in the 1966 NFL Draft. However, he signed as a free agent with the [[Minnesota Vikings]].

  • Minnesota Vikings (1966–1967): Silbaugh played two seasons with the Vikings, appearing in 14 games during his rookie year in 1966 and 14 games in 1967.
  • Chicago Bears (1968): He then moved to the [[Chicago Bears]] for the 1968 season, where he played in 14 games.

Across his three-season NFL career, Rudy Silbaugh played in a total of 42 regular-season games as a linebacker.
