Roy Fountain (born July 9, 1947) is an American former professional baseball pitcher who played briefly in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Chicago White Sox during the 1968 season.
Early Life and Career
Roy Fountain was born in Long Beach, California. He was drafted by the Chicago White Sox in the 22nd round of the 1965 Major League Baseball draft. Fountain spent several seasons in the minor leagues, developing as a pitcher before making his major league debut.
Major League Career
Fountain's MLB career consisted of a single season in 1968 with the Chicago White Sox. He appeared in three games, pitching a total of 1.1 innings. During his brief stint, he recorded an earned run average (ERA) of 6.75, allowing one earned run on two hits and one walk, with no strikeouts. His final major league game was on September 13, 1968.
