Rosmini College

Rosmini College is an integrated Roman Catholic secondary school for boys, located in Takapuna, on Auckland's North Shore, New Zealand. Founded in 1962 by the Institute of Charity (Rosminians), it is named after its patron, Antonio Rosmini-Serbati.

History Rosmini College was established by the Rosminian Order, an institute of priests and brothers founded by Antonio Rosmini in Italy in 1828. The school opened its doors in 1962, initially serving the growing Catholic population on Auckland's North Shore. It was founded with the mission of providing a Catholic education that integrates faith and learning, in line with the Rosminian charism of charity and intellectual pursuit. The college became an integrated school under the Private Schools Conditional Integration Act 1975, meaning it maintains its Catholic special character while receiving government funding for its operational costs.

Ethos and Special Character As a Catholic school, Rosmini College places a strong emphasis on its special character, fostering spiritual development alongside academic, cultural, and sporting achievement. The school's motto, "Humilitas et Caritas" (Humility and Charity), reflects the virtues espoused by Antonio Rosmini. Daily life at the college is underpinned by Catholic values and traditions, including regular prayer, liturgies, and a focus on community service and social justice. The curriculum includes religious education as a core subject.

The school aims to provide a comprehensive academic programme designed to prepare students for tertiary education and future careers. It offers a wide range of subjects across sciences, humanities, arts, and technology.
