Roshan Abbas

Roshan Abbas (born January 29, 1971) is an Indian media personality, producer, director, writer, and entrepreneur, widely recognized for his extensive work across radio, television, theater, and digital media. He is a prominent figure in the Indian entertainment and media industry, known for his diverse roles and contributions.

Abbas began his career in radio in the early 1990s as a radio jockey (RJ) on All India Radio, hosting popular shows like "Ooh La La" and "Eye Spy." He quickly gained popularity for his unique style and engaging persona. Concurrently, he was involved in theater, writing and directing several plays.

His transition to television saw him host a variety of shows, becoming a household name in India. Notable among his early TV ventures was "Bus Yahi," a youth-oriented show on Zee TV. He later hosted and produced several other successful programs, demonstrating his versatility both in front of and behind the camera. Abbas is also credited with bringing several international television formats to India.

As an entrepreneur, Roshan Abbas founded Encompass Events Private Limited (later Encompass-Geometry Global), a leading events and brand activation agency in India. Under his leadership, Encompass became a major player in the experiential marketing space. He also heads Lighthouse Productions, a production company involved in creating content for various platforms, including digital, television, and theater. He is also a co-founder of Kommune, a performance arts collective that promotes storytelling and poetry.

Abbas is also an accomplished author, having written "Speechless: What I Learned from My Father," a memoir and guide on communication. Throughout his career, he has been a strong advocate for creative arts and youth development, often mentoring new talent and speaking at various forums on media, entrepreneurship, and communication.
