Romeo (1990 film)

Romeo is a 1990 Dutch drama film directed and written by Rita Horst in her feature debut, starring Monique van de Ven and Johan Leysen. The film was produced by Frans Rasker and distributed by Concorde Film. It was entered into the 17th Moscow International Film Festival in 1991.

Plot

The story centers on Anne (Monique van de Ven) and her husband Matthijs (Johan Leysen), a couple who learn at seven months into Anne's pregnancy that their unborn child will not survive for long. The film explores their emotional struggle and the growing estrangement between them as they cope with the impending loss in different ways.
