Roland Dickgießer (born 14 December 1960) is a German former professional footballer who played as a defender. He is best known for his long tenure with SV Waldhof Mannheim, where he spent the vast majority of his professional career.
Born in Mannheim, West Germany, Dickgießer joined SV Waldhof Mannheim in 1979. He quickly established himself as a key player in the club's defence, contributing significantly to their success. He was an integral part of the team that achieved promotion to the Bundesliga, Germany's top-flight football league, in the 1982–83 season.
Dickgießer remained a steadfast presence for Waldhof Mannheim in the Bundesliga, making 171 appearances and scoring 9 goals during their time in the top division between 1983 and 1990. In total, he played over 400 league games for the club across various divisions, embodying the spirit of Waldhof Mannheim for over a decade.
After leaving SV Waldhof Mannheim in 1991, Dickgießer had a brief spell with VfL Neckarau before retiring from professional football. He is remembered as a reliable and committed defender who dedicated his career to his hometown club.
