Plot
The story revolves around five female characters—Charulatha, Leena, Radhika, Janani, and Manasa—who live in the same apartment building. As the name Roja Kootam ("Bunch of Roses") suggests, each character is portrayed as unique in her own way, with her own talents, aspirations, and complications in life. The series is women-centric, focusing on how the five women face their future challenges and difficulties.

Production and Inspiration
The serial was produced by Antony Tirunelvelli under Mercury Networks and directed by Charles. It is loosely inspired by the American television series Desperate Housewives. Star Vijay's sister channel StarPlus also adapted the Desperate Housewives concept in Hindi under the title Maryada: Lekin Kab Tak?.
Broadcast
The series initially aired Monday through Thursday at 8:30 PM IST on Star Vijay. It was also broadcast in Sri Lanka on Shakthi TV. The show concluded with a happy ending and was replaced by the reality dance show Jodi Number One.
