Roger Friedman

Roger Friedman (born October 30, 1959) is an American film critic and journalist. He began his career as a reporter for the Los Angeles Times and later wrote for The Hollywood Reporter and Fox News, where he contributed film reviews, commentary, and annual “best of” lists. Friedman gained prominence for his sensationalist style and for publishing controversial opinions about movies and industry figures.

In 2009, Friedman was dismissed from Fox News after an internal investigation concluded that he had plagiarized material from other publications in his online articles. Following his departure, he continued to write for various outlets, including The Wrap and The New York Sun, and maintained an active presence on social media, where he discussed film releases and industry news.

Friedman's work has been both praised for its accessibility to a broad readership and criticized for its occasional lack of depth and for the plagiarism incident. He remains a recognizable voice in the landscape of American film journalism.
